Pickheads, along with several others characterized as “fantasy wagering” sites, was covered in the WSJ today.  Have a read — our very own arudger gets his 15 minutes of fame.

Well, we’ve been in private beta for the past few days, and we’ve received some good suggestions (some of which we’ve already implemented), a couple bug reports, and some ideas that we’re still mulling over. We’ve also been constantly tweaking the site to tighten everything up.

So keep those comments coming in, and thanks for the support.

Pickheads was conceived and built by good buds and sports junkies Ray, Wayne, and Asher (well Ray ain’t exactly a sports nut, but he sure does like poker!). Like many living in Si Valley, we had a “wouldn’t it be cool if” moment and, well, couldn’t resist. A mere year or so later (hey, we have day jobs) and just in time for football season, we proudly roll out the fruits of our labor.

So what is Pickheads? You can think of it as all the goodness of fantasy sports, social networking and prediction markets all rolled into one. Huh? Just take the tour and hopefully it’ll make some sense.

We still have some major features to build out (stats, stats and more stats!), but feel there’s enough here to keep people busy. So help us out and check out the site, click a bunch of links, build and send picksheets and just test it out like a 3-year old tests power windows. And of course, please drop us a note and tell us what you think and how we can make Pickheads even better.
